Costco Car Rental

26 aug 2018 · have never seen such high car rental prices at costco. ca. I booked my hotel with expedia and noticed a banner saying hotel up to 50% off if i booked a car/hotel combo. Never had planned to check expedia car rental rates. I was blown away by the cheap expedia rental rates. 20 feb 2023 · looking for tips on finding the rental car company with the best service (no hidden extra fees, no waiting in absurdly long lines, book a car get a car…) i heard costco and aaa have good deals and make renting cars easy.

I had one experience where i did scratch up the car pretty decently and i had purchased insurance, it was nice just to drop it and go. However i wonder if it's just total overkill. That's not even just a costco thing. Most car rental companies have free cancellation, unless you specifically booked the prepaid nonrefundable fare. A lot of them don't even take cc at the time of booking. Also because car rental companies are great at taking reservations, but they fall short when it comes to keeping reservations! Nice thing is second driver is added for free using costco and there is an occasional free upgrade if the counter isn't too busy and you ask nicely. Costco car rental is generally great. Often the quotes they return are the lowest by far. Just don't get jerked around at the rental counter (i'm looking at you, budget). I've had a couple of times they claim they don't have any cars of the type i booked though costco then quote me something insanely higher at the counter. I booked through costcos online portal, the pricing was more affordable than any direct booking with the various car rental agencies. I think we used alamo each time. So op, if you get cheaper rates for other car companies, it is not really cheaper if you were to factor in additional costs such as listing additional driver.
